A living wall has been installed on Oaklands Road as part of the Oaklands Road Playable Street project. It has been installed outside the new residential development on the street, and was funded by Rainbow Properties, the developer of the block of flats. Over the next few months the plants will establish, fill out and begin to flower. The living wall helps to green the area and will contribute to pollution reduction.
UCA developed the Oaklands Road Playable Street Project on behalf of Cricklewood Town Team, and successfully bid for funding from the London Borough of Brent’s Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy Fund in 2019.
We will provide an update on when the construction element of the project, pedestrianising part of Oaklands Road by closing off vehicular access from the Broadway to Oaklands Mews, will commence. In April Brent Council suspended all works on site until further notice apart from emergency reactive emergency maintenance works due to COVID-19.
