French Market returns to Mill Hill and Cricklewood in November

Vibe Market is pleased to welcome the France at Home market from Normandy back to London this November.

On Friday 10 and Saturday 11 November, the market will visit Mill Hill town centre and then continue on to Cricklewood on Sunday the 12th.  Known for their selection of delicious foods and quality gifts, fashion accessories and home wares, the market is a firm favourite in both areas.

The market will be open from 9am to 6pm both days in Mill Hill and from 10am to 4pm in Cricklewood.

Mill Hill Autumn Market 15-16 September

On Friday 15 and Saturday 16 September, Mill Hill town centre will host an Autumn Market welcoming the community back from the summer holidays. The market will run from 11am to 6pm each day and will be located outside Santander bank, continuing up to Mill Hill Wines.

The market will feature a selection of quality stalls, including newcomers Budapest Bangers sausages, Coco & Vanilla cocktails, Lopsie’s Stiches African-print fashion, 24 Carrot vegan food, Momzkitchen Indian snacks, Aloebility Forever aloe health and beauty products, and Yayoi Botanical Essence handmade medicinal herbal products. Regular favourites include Jen Jen’s cupcakery, Gifts by Berni, Riverford Organic, the Woodland Trust, African Rose food, and French cheese and deli foods. Two new food stalls – Brambletye Organic Farm with fruits, vegetables, jams, juice and eggs, and Levain bakery with their signature Sourdough bread, will also both be making their first visits to Mill Hill.

The Mill Hill Autumn Market is part of the programme of events known as Mill Hill Markets, an initiative organised by Mill Hill Neighbourhood Forum and Vibe Market. The markets aim to increase dwell time and footfall for the town centre, and add vibrancy to the high street. An exciting calendar of events has already been underway in 2017, with recent visits by the Italia in Piazza Market the France at Home Market, which will visit again on 10-11 November, and the hugely successful ‘On Broadway’ Mill Hill Summer Festival. Planning is underway for another fantastic Christmas Market and Lights Switch-On will take place on 1-2 December, coinciding with Small Business Saturday.

John Gillett, chair of Mill Hill Neighbourhood Forum, said: “This is just one of the many initiatives we have for Mill Hill, to improve our Town Centre – do come along and also let us have your ideas for developing Mill Hill. We encourage everyone to also pop into shops across the town centre to say hello.”

Three hours of free parking are available on Saturdays and Sundays are free in the ‘pay by phone’ Bunns Lane car park. Many side streets are free to park from 12 noon.

French Market returns to Muswell Hill 26-27 August

On Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 August, Muswell Hill town centre will again get a taste of France. The authentic “France at Home” market comes straight from Normandy and will be visiting Muswell Hill, with a selection of delicious foods and quality gifts, fashion accessories and home wares. The market will be open from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

The market, which will be located outside Planet Organic in St James Square, has recently made visits to two north London town centres – Mill Hill and Cricklewood – and gained a loyal following.

In addition to helping Muswell Hill enjoy the late summer weekend, the French Market aims to increase dwell time and footfall for the town centre, and add vibrancy to the high street.

Heart of Wembley Festival returns 22 July

On Saturday, 22 July 2017 Wembley Futures will be hosting the second annual Heart of Wembley Festival. This exciting community event will take place from 1pm-6pm on Wembley High Road, from the Park Lane junction with the High Road towards the Wembley Triangle.

The Festival is one of the activities by Wembley Futures, one of 150 recipient groups across the UK to be awarded funding by The Big Local. A long-term innovative programme that aims to achieve lasting change, The Big Local provides a mixture of funding, finance and support. The Big Local is an opportunity for residents in Wembley Central to make a massive and lasting positive difference to their area. In addition to celebrating the Big Local success, the Festival aims to enthuse residents, businesses and partner organisations about the possibilities that Wembley Futures and Wembley Central present.

The Heart of Wembley Festival will celebrate the communities in Wembley Central through a mix of both local and professional music and dance. Among the musicians playing onstage will be Dhol2Dhol, outstanding performers and instructors of the vibrant Dhol drum, who have played major events such as the closing of the 2012 Paralympic Games and the London Marathon 2017; The London Belles, a chic vintage music trio playing favourites from the 1940s and beyond; rock band Harripaul, and singer-songwriter Doriane Woo. Move and sway to the headline act, Marta and Emiliano jazz band with a Latin American feel. The stage will also showcase the DJ talents of MC Nino, sounds of Ebony steel band, and a spoken word performance by festival MC, Bries. Dance groups representing the art form from across the world include street dancers from Elan Arts, South Asian Kathak dancers from the Encee Academy, Nepalese dancers from the British Gurka Nepalese Association, and Salsa dance from Wembley-based, Mambo City.

Shaun Wallace, one of the ‘chasers’ on the ITV quiz show The Chase, will be attending the Heart of Wembley Festival as the celebrity guest. The quiz show pits four contestants against the Chaser, a ruthless quiz genius determined to stop them winning the cash prize. Wallace, who won Mastermind in 2004, is a barrister and also known by the names ‘The Legal Eagle’ and ‘The Dark Destroyer’.

The Heart of Wembley Festival is a free event and will be a family-friendly environment, with children’s rides, a fascinating bubble show from bubbleologist Graham Maxwell, street theatre, community and information stalls, and stalls offering tantalising world food, fashion, gifts and jewellery.
